Boston
Boston, capital of Massachusetts and New England, is located on the east coast of the United States, about one hours flight from New York.
It was founded in 1620, ten years after Irish pilgrims landed at Plymouth, a town, several miles from Boston in the South, can be truly described as the birthplace of the United States.
Today the city of Boston has about 600.000 inhabitants. Together with all the suburbs and Boston county almost three Million people live there.
The climate in Boston can be compared with our European, even though Boston lays on the same degree of latitude as Rome/Italy.
That's because of it's location at the Atlantic ocean.
Bostons has all four seasons, but the winters can be very cold and the summers can be very hot.
The most beautiful season is the one of the fall/foliage (Laubfärbung), also known as "Indian summer".
The trees change, because of the temperature differences of day and night into the most beautiful colours.
