Australian School System

Most children start school at the age of five. They stay at primary school till seven and then they go on to High school. The pupils must wear school uniforms, but most hate them. The school starts at 9 a.m. and finishes at 3.15 p.m. During the long breaks they must go outside and wear a hat to be protected from the sun. The High schools a copmrehensive schools, you finish that after the year twelve, but the High school exam does not qualify you to go to university. The pupuils have to decide themselves which subjects they want to take. Most pupils play sports in school teams. The pupils who come from very far away have to catch the bus at 3.30 p.m.
