ABRAHAM LINCOLN
Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States of America, was born on the 12th february in a unpretentious hut in Kentucky as son of poor farmers. Already with nine years Abraham lost his mother ans he only visited his elementary school for one year.
With nineteen he first left his hometown: As worker on a ship he sailed down the Mississippi to New Orleans.
Two years later he moved to New Salem/Illinois, where he tried out and failed different jobs.
At least he decided to study law, to become a lawyer. To the same time he started to operate in politics and already in 1834 he was voted in the parliament of Illinois and in 1837 he settled down in Springfield, the capital city of his state.
In 1842 he married and his wife beared him four sons, three of them died early.
